A writer with an MFA in screenwriting from Chapman University, Michael has always loved storytelling, words and ideas. He received his B.A in Philosophy from the University of Missouri with a Minor in Journalism. Professionally, he has worked in many literary fields. His screenplay treatment for the hit Disney film, Girl Versus Monster (#1 in its time slot) won the Writer’s Guild of America award for Best Children’s Long Form Script in 2012. Michael’s skills in copywriting brought him to the attention of the Moment to Moment Marketing Group in Santa Monica, California. Some of his prestigious clients include actor Jason Patric’s celebrity-based charity, Stand Up for Gus, 41 Ocean, a chic Los Angeles members club and Levitt Quinn, a law firm specializing in family law.
As evidenced by his diverse academic background, Michael has a wide arrange of interests for which he has lent his creative literary touch. He has been a published columnist for Newsbase, an online news, commentary and analysis journal specializing in the energy sector as well as a reporter for the Columbia Missourian. Michael read scripts professionally for CAA, the foremost entertainment talent agency in the world under the guidance of Cathy Tarr, head of the Literary Department. Ghost-written blogs by Michael have appeared in the Huffington Post and OpEdNews. Michael prides himself on imaginative thinking outside the box and turning around quality work with lightning quick speed.
As senior manager of Partnership Development for Los Angeles-based Brand Sense Partners, Valerie led product campaigns for high profile accounts, such as Mad Men, Hamilton Beach, Shape, Jimi Hendrix, and The Farrah Fawcett Foundation. Utilizing her highly developed writing abilities honed in the Masters Writing program at Chapman University, she helped craft brand portfolios for Brando by Marlon Brando, Bootheel by Sheryl Crow, Priscilla Presley Home, and SomeECards. While working as a creative copywriter at the MTM Group, she produced video spots for actor Jason Patric’s parental rights campaign.
Valerie’s foray into the corporate world was preceded by a successful stint in Hollywood studio development. After being selected for a screenplay mentorship with Larry Gross (48 Hours, We Don’t Live Here Anymore), she professionally read scripts for Cathy Tarr, head of the Literary Department at CAA, the world’s top entertainment agency. Before Valerie earned her B.A. in English from Loyola Marymount University she spent two years studying method acting at the Lee Strasburg Institute. She is very excited to put her talents to excellent use by bringing her clients’ ideas to life.
